What’s Next? by Hugh

We EBCI RTR Riders arrived home in Cherokee, NC about 10:30pm June 25th (my birthday). What a gift- going home. Now, like myself, I suspect all of the RTR Riders, Eastern and Western are trying to process these three weeks worth of amazing experiences, and asking themselves the same question- “What’s Next?” I know I am.

Well, for myself, I have 60 hours of video to compile and edit, countless photos to collate, and what’s left of my life to earn this honor I have been granted. I have discovered in myself a desire to not take the easy path if it is not the one I want to be on. Not to settle for less than my utmost effort. To try to live every moment and that my greatest reward in life is to be of service to those I love. I would not be surprised if many of the other Riders (yes- with a capital “R”) feel something similar, young or old, east or west.

In the meantime, this blog had become so popular it zoomed up the ranks of Google in search requests, and that caught the interest of some spammers, so I am applying “measures” to protect the site. I’ll also ask the other riders to send/upload their photos and we’ll make a photo gallery or three, plus videos eventually. Be patient with me- I just got home and I have some family to attend to (eagerly).

We all thank you all for your outpouring of support and accolades. For myself, I assure you- the pleasure was all mine.

Thank you Jack! We actually learned a lot from you. It soon became obvious that touring bikes were a better choice, or even huybrids considering Missouri’s bad roads. Thanks for riding with us, and for all your support! Hugh
